Fear Or Something Like it

Fear Or Something Like It

I was on the edge

Looking into, heart struck,

Foam, water, weigh me down

It’s been awhile, my friend

Since I’ve faced you.

Today you laugh at me

You sense my fear.

It becomes unbearable

I can’t breathe.

It’s too late to turn back

I’m slipping into the swell.

Camera, oxygen, holding me down

I fall into the vortex.

Pounded by currents

Of everything connected.

In my past, present, tomorrow

My last thought is you.

Hands reach out to grab me

I’m safe, fear has gone away….today.
