Keep moving forward.

Strange what happened this week, or maybe not. I’ve always been a believer in certain stones carrying different energies and their abilities to enhance our life in positive and healing ways or even in dispelling negative energies. I came across a very large piece of amber in Central Mexico almost 12 years ago now. There was an elderly Mexican lady sitting by the side of the road and she had at least six small children around her. She had a tattered cloth spread on the ground with some wonderful looking stones and crystals. I think it was her eyes mostly that drew me to her, they were compelling, forcing me to walk slowly toward her. I felt as though I was suspended in time and space.

I was on a solo journey “in search of”.. another tempestuous argument back at the ranch so to speak and this particular flare up with my partner had set me off on a personal discovery across wild and rugged Mexico. I hopped a bus with a packsack on my back and very little clothing or money, I felt free and happy. My grasp of Spanish was good enough and it would allow me to have one of the most exciting adventures I have ever had in my life then or since.

I asked her how much she wanted for the beautifully shaped Amber in front of her and she looked at me and refused to take anything for it. She took the stone said some kind of prayer or blessing over it and handed it to me, she held my hand for a good long moment and the energy I felt between us was revitalizing and pure. I felt as though I had been filled with sunshine, it’s the only way I can explain it. I took off the necklace I had on, and left it on her cloth and walked away. I could feel her eyes on  my back and something told me not to turn around.

I worked, travelled with that stone, kept it in my hand while creating art, writing or just simply thinking. It never let me down in regard to charging my creative abilities or just in general making me feel good. It was without a doubt my travelling partner of choice for a very long time.

This week I passed that stone onto a very special friend who has his own problems at this juncture in his life. I can only wish that he gets as much goodness, kindness and love from it as I did.  This morning I opened my front door and the mailman delivered a small parcel to me from someone I have never met. He had enclosed a very touching note: “I have stumbled across the energies of stones and over the past two years have amassed some great rock solid proof of the power of them”. “A raw piece of emerald for you, it’s a heart stone and carried in your pocket it will attract true love..  The other stones just jumped in Es-tee, they did not want to be left behind, Enjoy and continue to live a blessed life”…

I felt for a moment that fate had intervened again in my life and thought all is as it should be, at this moment in time. For me it was another unexpected sign delivered to my door. It was the right time to pass the Amber on and I will forever think of it as the Amber Trilogy now…. ..From the beautiful elderly Mexican woman, to myself in a time of need and now to  my wonderful friend Joe. It’s important to keep moving forward.

I shall leave it in the hands of destiny where it goes from here.
