SISTERS
My sister and I have found out that we aren’t really that much different after all. This visit home has shown the both of us that the love is always there and certain things can only be shared with a sister. I’ve missed her and this bonding time has shown me that time really does heal all. It’s been a cautious dance for both of us but today I can say the slow waltz is turning into a tango. We are beginning to share our daily lives and secrets with each other, in the way only sisters can. We are discovering a sister is someone who’s more than just family, her friendship is one of a kind..

I watched you grow up,
Shared your first baby steps.
You lovingly held my hand,
Asked me how and why.
I was your big sister, guardian angel,
Loved you then, love you now.
“Sisters are your best friends and you can tell them anything… they understand everything about you and never judge”… Es-tee.
“You can kid the world but not your big sister”…..Charlotte Grey
I don’t know what it’s like to have a sister… I can only imagine… sounds pretty special.
I travelled with my sister this summer for the first time in almost half century and can totally agree with your feelings. She has lived on the opposite side of the country since her marriage in 1965 and whenever we were together since we have been surrounded by family. With the passing of her dear husband, I decided she needed me back in her life, at least for awhile. The 2 weeks together simply made those years disappear and once again we are truly “sisters”!
And that’s why Love is never overused.
