I’m trying out a new Costa Rican coffee this morning and it’s so aromatic it’s arousing all kinds of thoughts! Coffee is definitely my secret vice :-).
I was thinking of my cat encounter yesterday and wondering why I seem to bring out odd behavior in the feline family. I had gone to visit a girlfriend who has a very strange black Persian cat with emerald eyes. They were quite mesmerizing. I finally unlocked eyes with him and told him mentally, your not so cool you know, my eyes are green too. I’m not a cat lover and have always treated them somewhat with disdain. This cat took no notice and proceeded to climb up my leg and perch literally on my head. I froze and my girlfriend had to remove him saying she’s never seen him act like that before.
I told her I wasn’t really surprised as cats have always acted odd around me, at least in my opinion. My neighborhood is a good example..This past summer it seemed as though three very beautiful cats were competing for my attention. I have no idea who they belonged to, I assumed they have different owners. Each morning they would show up at different times bearing gifts. It seemed as if they had some kind of unspoken communication between them when each could show up for their appointments to see me.
I had almost enough of this unwarranted attention the morning Ms. Orange I called her, a beautiful Calico, delivered a garter snake to me with great pride. I noticed in the colder weather they were a little more discreet with their affections and hung about my home in a less obtrusive way. One now sits on my wood pile as though guarding it. Another sits on the back patio doors as though blocking entrance to intruders.
I put up with them, I think there is always reasoning behind the way they act.. I just haven’t figured it out yet.

I had to laugh when I read this, returning with the spoils of the hunt is their way of proudly bringing back a gift to their guardian. Normally, cats see us as a parent figure, but when they present gifts of prey, they see us as their kittens. Accept the gift graciously.Your friendly cats obviously feel you need protecting. Bruno
Thanks Bruno 🙂
Whats with this Cat business(and I am not a cat person) BUT apparently I am their Equal as they
have this tendency of climbing on me uninvited and BONK me on the Forehead.
