After the music..

After the music..

Applause turns to silence.

Sweet guitar strings,

Lie there broken.

Languid melodies now mute.

Embarrassed seconds all undone,

He sings softly to himself,

Yarn of sadness fills his heart.

His keys are lost,

I’ve heard him cry.

What plea, what rhapsody,

Will bring you but God?

Your thoughts are static,

They tumble around me,

They weave a sweet dream.

When the lights are out,

Softly shall they return to you.
