A day with my parents can either make or break you! Yesterday made me realize that my Mom is a true champion and I still have a long way to go in this race to keep up with her. The daily banter that my parents exchange would make a great comedy I think many days. My Dad is a bit put off that my Mom after all these years has decided she needs a passport. I was actually thrilled that she’s thinking of travel and I felt so blessed to be able to be a part of it all. We filled out the forms, got the passport photo in the mail and yesterday she looked 20 years younger when the passport office called and told her it would be in the mail next week!
My Dad just shook his head and asked her if he could borrow some money as he didn’t want to go to the bank today. Mom said she couldn’t because she’d blown her budget this month and besides she’s saving for her old age! ..My Dad looks at her like she’s absolutely nuts and says…”Just when in the hell do you think your going to be old?”…she’s 80.
Her parting shot was…”And besides when my passport arrives I’ve got to be ready to Go…Go…Go!”…

“When your mother asks, “Do you want a piece of advice?” it is a mere formality. It doesn’t matter if you answer yes or no. You’re going to get it anyway”… -Erma Bombeck
