The frost begins.

Frozen berries

softly jeweled

like precious stones

on this barren vine.

I plucked a frozen flower

as quiet fills

this closing hour.

My heart

has turned to winter.

Do not beg

to love me.

There are

no refunds left

and this destiny

has sailed.
