THE SILENCE OF THE FOREST

It wasn’t quite daybreak yet in the silence of the forest. It began to rain early into it and I threw on my waterproof jacket and found a mound of pine needles to sit on using the trunk of a huge tree to sit against and enjoy a thermos of coffee I had brought along. The smell of coffee and pine were pleasantly intoxicating. As I sat there listening to the living, breathing silence all around me I was startled to look up and notice an eagle in repose with head bowed. We seemed to be in sync the eagle and I and I closed my eyes and just savored the moment in this beautiful damp world.

About redcontroversy

I know I'm a stargazing, skywatching, storm loving, sungazing addict. Environmentalist, political blogger, professional photographer, writer, artist...my favourite quote is: "If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive". ~ Eleonora Duse ~ ...my soul is definitely alive.
