REFLECTIONS AT CHRISTMAS TIME

IMG_1604 - Copy

My aunt Adelaide sent along this poem today and I thought I would share her words of wisdom… a true love story. She is 89 years old.

I used to think it will be fun

When all my work on earth is done.

I did not realize that I

Do not want to just live and die.

I like to leave a mark

It would be nice

To leave a spark

A spice of life.

My life held both

The long years through

I made an oath

To my partner true.

Every year we spent together

The lessons learned would last forever.

Now when I look back over all those years

I didn’t keep track of our

heart break and fears.

Life seasons are chapters

In the book of our years.

Some pages are wrinkled with laughter

Some pages are torn with tears.

Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”

Environmentalist, political blogger, professional photographer, writer, artist...my favourite quote is: "If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive". ~ Eleonora Duse ~ ...my soul is definitely alive.
